We’re Hiring:  Operations Coordinator

Man holding up sign saying 'We Are Hiring'

Part-time (16 hrs/week) • Tower Hamlets • £32,136 FTE

Do you love making things run smoothly? When meeting dates fall into place, the tracker is always up to date, and deadlines are met? We’re a growing Tower Hamlets charity turning loneliness into connection, and we’re looking for someone like you to keep us on track.

Who we are
Globe Community Project works with older people at risk of isolation, and recently-arrived women seeking sanctuary and their children. We help them find friendship, confidence and a sense of belonging. We’re Buddhist-inspired, but our projects are for everyone, and our team and communities include people of all faiths and none, from many backgrounds. We aim to be a charity people love working for, caring equally for the wellbeing and development of the communities we serve, our team, volunteers and trustees.

Why this role matters
Our frontline work depends on what happens behind the scenes. As Operations Coordinator, you’ll be the person who keeps everything on track. You’ll make sure meetings happen and actions get followed up. You’ll keep our data accurate and our systems working, and you’ll sort things out when the tech lets us down. Your steady, capable work will enable frontline services that change lives.

What you’ll be doing

  • Keeping the calendar moving: scheduling project meetings, staff meetings and reporting deadlines, taking minutes, and chasing actions.

  • Spotting when something is starting to slip, and flagging it before it becomes a problem.

  • Looking after the office, IT, equipment, insurance and procurement, and troubleshooting whatever comes up.

  • Supporting recruitment, HR and training administration

  • Chasing and collating invoices and allocating them to budgets (we’ll train and support you)

  • Producing accurate monthly, quarterly and annual figures from project data.

  • Organising the occasional event, and representing GCP at external meetings

  • Managing our policy reviews, from collating trustee comments through to drafting revisions.

Who we’re looking for
You don’t need to have worked in a charity before - what matters most is how you work. You’re systems- and process-driven, with a great eye for detail. You’re tenacious too; once a task is yours, you see it through. You juggle competing priorities calmly, enjoy solving problems, and you’re confident with spreadsheets and numbers. You’ll have some demonstrable office experience, excellent written English, and a real connection to our values.

This role could suit someone who is studying part-time, has caring responsibilities, or wants to build experience in the charity sector. For the right person, it could grow in hours and seniority.

What we offer

  • £32,136 pro rata (0.4 FTE or 2 days / 16 hours a week, including a paid lunch break)

  • Flexibility on days and hours by agreement

  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata), rising with long service

  • 10% employer pension contribution

  • Training and development opportunities

  • A warm, diverse, values-led team in Bethnal Green

Deadline: Monday 23 November 2026 at 09:00
Interviews: Wednesday 9th December 2026
